It's Tuesday morning and the halls are quiet. I'm still surprised at how quickly this very unconventional year has flown by.
As I look around my semi-boxed-up, ready-for-summer-cleaning and *hopefully* ready-to-move-back-to-Room-208 classroom, it astounds me to think how much learning and growing we did this year together as a team both while together in-class and from afar via Showbie and Teams. Through ups and downs, we set goals, celebrated successes, worked hard, had fun, learned and shared some hard lessons, collaborated with our peers, set new standards for ourselves, and truly grew into our roles as " les chevaliers."
And, because this blog was created for and truly belongs to you, the students, I am signing off by letting your words share what this year has meant to you.
Wishing you all the most wonderful summer!
Wishing you all the most wonderful summer!
À la prochaine, mes amis!
Mme Careen 😊
I have so many awesome memories. The first day was really fun. Any day we went down to the gym to work on the white boards was fun. Making new friends and getting closer with current friends. It was not an ideal year, but I'd say it was a good one. One of my favourite memories would be just coming into class every day ready to learn with my teachers and friends. It was a good year and I hope next year will also treat me that same way. Bye. - Josh
One fun thing that I remember was all of the times we solved Math problems on the white boards in groups. - Joseph
My favourite memory of this year is the first time that we all played YAHOO. It was so fun and very entertaining. But I miss is all. 😄 - Ava
My favourite memory from Grade 6 was when we first got to the classroom and met everyone. Another one of my favourite memories was when I met up with my friends from Grade 5 and made new friends with them. - Kaitlyn
Probably my favourite memory of this year was the first day of school. We were in our regular classroom and we got to meet everybody. - Elliott
My favourite memory was when we would do the Math scavenger hunt with Mme Careen. They were always super fun. And, with Mme Houlahan is when we would do the Kahoots in person. - Adi
Although this year has been crazy, there has been so many great memories. I have so many favourites that it's hard to pick just one as my favourite, but here are two.
A favourite memory of mine is when we did our tomato project. I enjoyed all of it. I love learning science stuff, and this was a really fun project! I loved planting the tomatoes a lot. And learning all the things about how they grow was really fun.
Another favourite memory of mine is when Ciara and I played badminton together. We both get very competitive when it comes to playing a game against each other. We didn't make it easy for each other but we always had lots of fun! We would make each other run around and be able to have a fun rally. The games always ended so close in score.
In conclusion, two of my favourite memories were playing badminton with Ciara and doing the tomato project. - Olivia
So, my absolute favourite memory of 6th grade was when we were maybe a week into the school and I had sushi for lunch and me and the people I was near were talking about spicy food and we thought it would be fun to eat the whole wasabi! As you can imagine, it didn't go so great but another student was worse! He took the tiniest bit of wasabi and a grain of rice and completely freaked out! He was drooling everywhere! It was so funny I could never look at him the same again! I couldn't stop laughing all day. So that is my favourite memory of sixth grade.
My favourite memory about this year is being able to make a ton of new friends and learning all kind of new things with my teachers who are the best. - Mannix
My favourite memory from this year was all the science experiments we did. I usually get bored or don't like Science but Mme Careen made it really fun! - Julie
